Women in Brass, an organisation committed to supporting and empowering current as well as future female participation and enjoyment of brass banding has announced its latest concert in Mount Waverley in Victoria, Australia.
Taking place on May 27th (7.00pm) at the Huntingtower School Performing Arts Centre, it aims to celebrate female brass musicians from all over Australia, as well as building networks through inclusive music making.
Proud
Women in Brass was founded in 2022 by Marissa Clarke, a Brisbane-based musician and brass band lover. The organisation is proud to mentor and support female players, regardless of experience level, and celebrate their remarkable contribution to the banding movement.
The players from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania will come together to perform a varied programme of music to suit every taste and style.
Motivate
Speaking about the event, Melissa Clark said: "We're thrilled to bring 'Women in Brass' to Melbourne this year. Through involvement, we hope to motivate and energize performers and audience alike and showcase the incredible talent that exists amongst women in banding, whilst inspiring the next generation."
Melissa added: "We are an organisation that is working to challenge gender stereotypes, inspire and empower, and we're thrilled to announce the Father Bob McGuire Foundation as our chosen charity."
