The Association has added the two new contests to its 2023/24 calendar of events

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) has announced their plans for their forthcoming 2023/24 contest season.

Contests

It will see them host their Own Choice March & Test Piece Contest on Sunday 19th November. The open event will be an A Section for registered bands with a B Section for unregistered and training bands who will be giving the alternative to perform a short own choice programme instead of a test-piece to complement their march selection. The adjudicator will be Nicholas Garman.

A spokesperson added: "We are delighted to have once again secured sponsorship from Gloucestershire based publisher Wright & Round for Section B, with additional sponsorship from Denis Wick Products Ltd for Section A."

4BR was also informed that the Association will reintroduce their Entertainment Contest on Sunday April 21st aimed at bands wishing to give an early outing for their Summer event/concert programmes.

More information

The contests will be held at the popular Severn Vale School in Quedgeley, Gloucester minutes from J12 of the M5.
