The A W Parker (Drybrook) Band from the Forest of Dean has announced that Nigel Howard is to become their new Assistant Musical Director and solo trombone.

The new promoted West of England Championship Section band stated that the appointment ensured that their successful long term partnership with MD Joshua Ruck will be further strengthened with the additional support.

Talents

He told 4BR: "I've long admired Nigel's talents as a fine trombone player and conductor.

This appointment has come at the perfect time as it completes a strong trombone team and gives me further support as we move the organisation forward. I'm really looking forward to working with him."

Delighted

In response Nigel said: "Having played under Josh on several occasions and having experienced the level of musicianship with Drybrook Band I was delighted to accept the roles.

I am now looking forward to playing and conducting with a renewed excitement with a fine band."
