Vinter tweak for Band Supplies Scottish Challenge

There has been a tweak to the repertoire requirements for the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge Championship later this year.

Perth
The competition takes place at Perth Concert Hall on 25th November.

The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced a change to its music requirements for the 2023 Band Supplies Scottish Challenge Championship.

The originally remit was for all bands to perform a work written by Gilbert Vinter. 4BR has been informed that this remains for bands graded in the First and Second Section, but those in the Third and Fourth Section can now select any own-choice work.

Limited choice

SBBA stated: "Due to the more limited choice of music by Gilbert Vinter for Third and Fourth Section bands, they will now be able to perform own-choice pieces including, if they wish, Gilbert Vinter's music — although the requirement for First and Second Section bands remains."

Entry forms

Entry forms can be downloaded at: https://www.sbba.org.uk/events?event=190
or from contest controller Peter Fraser at: fraserp3@virginmedia.com

The contest will be held at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 18th November.

Details of the Scottish Open on Saturday 25th November and the Scottish Youth Championships on Sunday 26th November will follow in due course.
