The players are now focused on their appearance at the Black Dyke Brass Band Festival

The talented youngsters of the Yorkshire Youth Brass Band recently completed their final rehearsal gathering of the 2022/2023 session.

The players met under the baton of conductor Richard Marshall and colleagues from Yorkshire Champion Black Dyke Band at Saddleworth School for a full day of sectional work and full band practice. The day was rounded off with an impromptu concert for family members.

Bokaris masterclass

Richard was joined by Connor Lennon, John O'Brien, Brett Baker, Amy Paterson, Matthew Routley and Gareth Hand, with their newly appointed solo euphonium player Adam Bokaris introducing himself by giving a masterclass whilst also offering youngsters with expert advice who had the opportunity to play a solo with the band.

Speaking about the day Brett Baker told 4BR: "It was great to see the continuing development of the player and the way they have grown in individual and collective confidence."

All eyes and focus are now on the band's performance at the Black Dyke Brass Band Festival on Sunday 4th June.
