As reported by the BBC, 95 year old trombone player Tom Street from Heage in Derbyshire has become a Guinness World Record Holder after being recognised as the longest serving man to play in a brass band.
As of today (Thursday 20th April) has notched up the remarkable tally of 82 years and 334 days of membership, with the desire to add quite a few more years to that total.

His story and presentation was featured both by the BBC regional news outlet and the main BBC National news after his grandson Louis was determined to find out if he was a record breaker.
He described playing in the band as "a joy"although eh did say he hoped to celebrate the achievement with a pint or two.
