Vinter choices at Band Supplies Scottish Challenge

Competitors will be able to choose from the wonderful library of Gilbert Vinter compositions for the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge Championship in Perth later this year.

It has been announced that the 2023 Band Supplies Scottish Challenge Championship is to feature works by composer Gilbert Vinter.

The contest for bands graded from First to Fourth Section will be held at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 18th November.

Outstanding music

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Vinter composed outstanding music for brass bands and SBBA feels it's time to highlight them once more.

He offers so much variety and enables bands to show ambition too. We are sure the choices made will appeal to both performers and listeners alike."

They added: "A great deal of the music is already out in band libraries, but they are also available through Just Music and other publishers."

Details of the Scottish Open on Saturday 25th November and the Scottish Youth Championships on Sunday 26th November will be announced shortly.
