The European Brass Band Association has announced the adjudication panels that will make the decisions at the forthcoming European Brass Band Championships in Malmo.
The festival is being held between 1st — 7th May in association with World of Brass and will comprise four main competitions.
Solo Championship
17 semi-finalists will take part in the European Soloist Competition on Monday 1st May, with their performances judges by hugely respected solo performers Glenn van Looy (Belgium), Camilla Søderstrøm Tveit (Norway) and Simone Rebello (England).
The trio of qualifying Concerto finalists, accompanied by the Concord Brass Band, will be judged by Katrina Marzella-Wheeler (Scotland), Allan Withington (Norway) and Olle Elfström (Sweden).
Championship Section
The Blue Riband Championship Section will sets two different sets of judges.
The set-work discipline (Friday 5th May) will be adjudicated by a trio of renowned conductors: Allan Withington, joined by Phillipe Bach (Switzerland) and Ivan Meylemans (Belgium).
The own-choice discipline (Saturday 6th May) will be judged by Swiss conductor Michael Bach who led Brass Band Burgermusik Luzern to the European title in 2014, Belgian conductor and former EBBA solo competition finalist, Bert van Thienen and tenor horn soloist, educator and adjudicator Sheona White (Scotland). All have either conducted or performed at the highest European Championship level.
Challenge Section
Earlier on the Saturday morning, the Challenge Section sees Martyn Brabbins, Musical Director of English National Opera, join Ivan Meylemans and Anne Crookston (Scotland)
The Youth Competitions on the Sunday will feature Anne Crookston, Martyn Brabbins, Bert van Thienen and Sheona White.

They bring many years of experience as professional musicians and expertise in the art of banding to the events."
