Following the success of their recent Easter Course concert in Manchester, the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain can be enjoyed in action once again this weekend as they head to Birmingham to perform alongside The Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines Collingwood.
Bongo
The concert will take place at Ruddock Hall, on Saturday 15th April at 4.00pm and will see the two ensembles provide a wide variety of music — including the world premiere of award winning composer Paul Saggers latest work, 'Vivaldi's Mission to Saturn on a Dog named Bongo'!
Speaking to 4BR, the Marines MD, Capt Sam Hairsine said: "We are really looking forward to the concert and sharing the stage with some incredible young musical talent.
The youngsters will provide superb quality playing, and then it will be our turn with pieces from Philip Sparke to that fun premiere from Paul Saggers as well as the spectacle of our tremendous Corps of Drums.
In addition, we will join forces for a finale featuring Dan Price's 'Andromeda' and Geoff Nobes' beautiful 'Prelude on Lavenham'."
