Cory Band welcomed a trio of talented young players to their bandhall as part of their 'Side by Side' initiative they are running in collaboration with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff.

Trio

Jennifer Richardson (cornet) from Shirley Band, Phoebe Mallinson (flugel) from BD1 Brass and Rory Arthur (Eb Bass) from Egham Band joined a regular rehearsal where MD Philip Harper the band through their paces for their forthcoming concert appearances on works such as 'Balkan Dance' and 'Variations on Laudate Dominum', as well as the works to be played at the European Championships in Malmo.

Inspired

Speaking about the visit, Philip said: "It was great to offer a chance to these talented young people, all of whom are still at school. Their parents brought them down from across the UK and watched the rehearsal.

The three were all extremely excited about it, and I hope it inspired them to aim high in their banding careers. I'm sure they will all do brilliantly."
