World Rankings: April update

A busy start to the contest season sees Cory, as ever, at the head of the Band Supplies — 4Barsrest World Rankings, but the gap to Foden's continues to narrow!

Tredegar was crowned Welsh Champion for a 14th time
  Regionals 2023 — Tredegar was crowned Welsh Champion for a 14th time

The regional championships went somewhat to form, with victories for Black Dyke, Camborne Town, Foden's, GUS, NASUWT Riverside, Tredegar, Whitburn and Zone One Brass, although these results had little impact on the actual positions of the bands near the top of the table.

National contests held since the start of the year have also seen success for Hautes de France and Eikanger-Bjorsvik (Norway), while the other ranking contests since the last update were:

NEMBBA Contest — won by Newstead Brass;
Welsh Open — won by Ebbw Valley Brass;
SCABA Spring Contest — won by Friary Brass.

The next few weeks will see the Australian National take place, with the European Championships in Malmo, Sweden, and the Spring Festival in Blackpool all expected to make significant impacts on the rankings.
