Camborne Band has confirmed that they will work with Ian Porthouse as Professional Conductor throughout 2023.

January Ian will visit the band each month to work on different projects and initiatives as well as leading them to both the West of England Regional Championships and the Grand Shield.

The link renews a partnership that has seen Ian direct the band at Torquay on four occasions including victory in 2020.

Rapport

Speaking about the news, Musical Director Kevin Mackenzie said: "We have always enjoyed working with Ian.

He has a great rapport with the band and his experience and musical insight always benefits us. 2023 looks to be a very exciting year ahead."

Excites

In response Ian added: "The prospect of working with Kevin and the band again is one that excites me — especially as it will be on a regular basis where longer-term planning can be put in place.

2023 will soon be with us, but I'm really looking forward to this."
