Elland Silver Band has received £500 from Localgiving and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant-giving charity funded by players of People's Postcode Lottery.

The funding boost will enable the organisation, which already boasts six community based ensembles, to offer free music sessions in local schools to inspire as well as provide opportunities for local children to play brass instruments.

Opportunity

Samantha Harrison, MD of Elland Silver Youth Sections told 4BR: "We are keen to give as many local children as possible the opportunity to play a musical instrument and make it as accessible as possible.

We already have an established training programme for children and adults of all ages and abilities, so this funding will help us to offer more outreach work into local schools."
