New boy sails to 1st Old Boys help

Martin Britt will perform with 1st Old Boys Band at the NIBA Championships in Armagh this weekend.

Martin Britt
The popular player enjoys his banding travels

1st Old Boys Band has announced that soprano cornet star Martin Britt will be performing with them at the upcoming NIBA Championship in Armagh this weekend.

The highly respected player is well known for enjoying a peripatetic love of helping as many bands as he can working around his busy professional life — one that has seen him travel as far afield as Germany to New Zealand in recent years with various stop offs at the likes of Friary, Grimethorpe, Brighouse, Cory and Tredegar.

It's not known if the Schilke Instruments ambassador has also been able combine his love of sailing by mooring his boat in Belfast to travel to band, but the 1st Old Boys MD Jonathan Corry is certainly delighted to welcome his old friend to their shores.

"I'm really looking forward to working with Martin again. He is a world class soprano player and a great bloke and I know he will further enhance the band's strong cornet section led by Louise Bell and Paul Young."
