The City of Hull Band has announced the return of Neil Day to his former role as Principal Cornet.
Neil has taken an extended break from playing following the tragic loss of his beloved son, Cameron. The 21-year-old was a victim of Covid-19.
Return
However, inspired from what he said was Cameron's strength and resilience, Neil has returned to playing and to warm and loving camaraderie of the band, knowing that it would have made his late son proud.
Neil has stated that he was proud to be back playing and is grateful to the band for their continued support. Neil has also set up a charity to honour Cameron's memory and create a meaningful legacy in his name at: www.cdct.org.uk
Happy
City of Hull Chairperson, Tony Newiss told 4BR: "We are extremely happy that Neil has come home and we look forward to making many more happy memories together as we all try and move towards a more normal post covid banding future."
