The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will make a special guest appearance at the National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.
Under the baton of Martyn Brabbins they will give a short pre-results concert, with music from Wagner to Arnold. They will open with the famous 'Prelude to Act III from Lohengrin' before performing Eric Ball's iconic 'Resurgam'.
Soprano guest
Their special guest soloist soprano singer Alexandra Oomens a rising star and Harewood Artist of English National Opera, who will feature in the wonderful 'Songs from the Auvergne' by Joseph Canteloube. They will close with all the foghorn fun of 'Padstow Lifeboat'.
The band is following in famous footsteps with the likes of Mnozil Brass, LSO Brass, Derek Watkins and Don Lusher all having performed in the slot over the years.

A spokesperson for the NYBBGB stated: "Performing at the Championships at the Royal Albert Hall is a great way to round up our celebratory year, and a chance for the band to showcase their talents once more with a wonderful soloist in Alexandra Oomens."
