RAF fanfare to herald new National Champion

The Fanfare Trumpeters of the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment (RAF Music) will herald the announcement of the new National Champion at the Royal Albert Hall.

RAF Fanfare
The team will provide the fanfare before the declaration of the new champion

The declaration of the newly crowned 2022 Champion Band of Great Britain will be heralded by the Fanfare Trumpeters of the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment (RAF Music) at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 15th October.

Fanfare

It extends what has become a tradition at the event as organisers Kapitol Promotions continue a partnership link to the armed forces.

Peter Graham, the composer of the 'Hyperlink' test-piece to be used on the day has written the fanfare entitled 'Festfanfare' for the occasion.

Privilege

Speaking on behalf of the Fanfare Team, Air Specialist (Class 1) Alan Thomas stated: "It's the privilege of the Fanfare Trumpets of the Band of the RAF Regiment to be announcing the winners of the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall.

Such a wealth of talent from the brass band hall of fame have graced this stage over decades. It's our honour on this occasion to be performing a specially adapted version of 'Academic Fanfare' by the esteemed composer of this year's test piece, Peter Graham".
