50 years of music making has been celebrated by the Blasmusikverein Carl Zeiss Jena e.V. organisation in Germany.
Musicians aged 9 to 63 from its four ensembles gathered to celebrate the achievement — starting with the Junior Brass Band KLANGwelt and followed by contributions from Youth Brass Band BlechKLANG, Brass Band VielKLANG and Brass Band BlechKLANG.
Wide spectrum
Under the direction of Andrea Hobson (Junior Brass Band, VielKLANG), Nick Prince (Youth Brass Band) and Alexander Richter (BlechKLANG), the appreciate audience enjoyed the wide spectrum of brass band genres that are now approached with enthusiasm, ambition and excellence.
Compere Thomas Rothhardt guided the audience through the evening with recollections and memories of the past half a century to enhance the experience for all that took part.

Very proud
Speaking about the event, Creative Director Alexander Richter told 4BR: "I am very proud of the 50th anniversary year and what we were all able to achieve.
We are always looking forward and we have our own International Summer Brass Band Camp and the Jena Brass Seminar to come. In addition, there are also other numerous concert performances and our participation in the German National Championships."
He added: "It has always been the ethos to enjoy our music making and to present the very best of the brass band tradition. Now comes the next 50 years!"
