Grimey set for another National victory...

The stage is set for Grimethorpe aka Grimley Colliery Band to win the National title once more at the Royal Albert Hall...

Brassed Off
The band will perform once again at the Royal Albert Hall

Grimethorpe Colliery Band will return to the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday (25th May) for their latest performance of 'Brassed Off Live'.

The band recently completed its preparations for the hugely successful event as they welcomed orchestral conductor Ben Palmer to a rehearsal.

Privilege

He told 4BR: "Working with Grimethorpe on Brassed Off Live is a huge privilege. The band's warmth and flexibility, not to mention the players' collective experience with this music — make accompanying this incredibly moving film a complete joy.

After the disappointment of our 2020 Royal Albert Hall show being postponed, we're all really raring to go!"

Ben will lead the band on the iconic stage with the film projected to a sell-out audience on a huge screen above them.

Herman and Kermode

The evening starts at 7.00pm with a Q&A session featuring the film director and Grimethorpe Honorary Patron, Mark Herman. He will be joined by stars of the film with the session hosted by critic and Grimethorpe fan, Mark Kermode.

The performance starts at 7.55pm where the band will be joined by members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra who will perform the incidental tracks to the film along with the band.
