A host of superstar players from across the United States of America and the UK have returned to perform with Brass Band of Battle Creek this week.
The band which was formed 30 years ago will perform its annual Spring Concert at the 2000 seat W.K Kellogg Auditorium in the Michigan town under the baton of conductor Michael J Garassi on Saturday 21st May.
Special arrangement
Pianist and 2018 Gilmore Young Artist Wei Luo will be the featured guest soloist in a special arrangment of the first movement of Tchaikovsky's 'Piano Concerto No. 1', with the band also performing the music of legendary American composer John Williams from films such as 'The Mission' to 'E.T.'
The players arrived for rehearsals on Wednesday evening, but will be mixing hard work with plenty of fun as they take to the town on Friday evening for a special fund raising initiative called 'Haulin' Brass' which sees ensembles from the band take to local pubs to perform their own brand of 'jam sessions'.
