The impressive Swansea University Bay Campus will host delegates from around the world for the 2022 International Brass Band Summer Schoool (IBBSS) led by Black Dyke Director of Music, Prof Nicholas Childs.
There are still a few places left for those wishing to attend, with Prof Childs telling 4BR: "It's great to be able to welcome people back after a 2 year hiatus, and what a wonderful venue to welcome them back too as well."
Something extra
He added: "It enables us to offer something extra on top of the fantastic music making opportunities delgates will enjoy with the likes of Richard Marshall, Tom Hutchinson, Chris Turner, Owen Farr, Gary Curtin, Dan Thomas, Brett Baker, Matt Routley, Neil Edwards and Mark Thackrah.
The collective experience is memorable but it is the indovdual tailored approach with popular but challenging repertoire that is another ingredient. Delegates can choose what they want to do and at their own pace — either individually or as a small group or just by being part of the massed bands. It's about exploring new skills as well as improving existing ones, but all underpinned by the enjoyment of the music making and an inclusive, supportive environment."
That will also see plenty of fun too — from quiz nights to the course's own take on Yorkshire Day and Swiss National Day — all in the heart of Wales!
