Valaisia to return to British Open

The Swiss National Champion will be invited to compete at the 2023 British Open Championships.

4BR has been informed that the current Swiss National Champion, Valaisia Brass Band will be invited to compete at the 2023 British Open Championships.

It follows the band's runner-up finish at the 2022 European Championships in Birmingham and continues the policy of inviting the highest placed European band at the event to compete at the following year's British Open contest.

Formal invitation

It is understood a formal invitation will be forthcoming with the indication that the band is delighted to return to the contest which they won in 2017.

Paris Brass Band (who were the highest placed European band at the 2019 European Championship) will compete at the 2022 event at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
