WFEL Fairey set to party

The Stockport band will join a star studded party to help celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The WFEL Fairey Band will perform as part of the National Lottery's 'Big Jubilee Street Party' at the AO Arena in Manchester on 12th May.

The spectacular event will be hosted by Jason Manford and Fleur East and will see the Stockport band take to the stage with the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Grennan Steps, Becky Hill, Heather Small, Calum Scott, the House Gospel Choir, Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson.

Multimedia show

The AO Arena floor is set to be transformed into a stunning street party setting to act as the stage for the immersive multimedia show.

The event forms part of the £22 million of National Lottery funds earmarked to communities to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The event is already sold-out.

Huge celebration

Speaking about the party, Jason Manford said: "It'll be a huge celebration of our monarch's extraordinary reign and a night of fantastic entertainment. The audience is in for a real treat."

Meanwhile, Fleur East added: "The National Lottery's Big Jubilee Street Party is going be the perfect way to kick start the Jubilee celebrations and we're looking forward to keeping you company for the night, so get your family and friends involved for what will be a wonderful evening.

Chinnor Silver

March 27 • We are a friendly progressive 1st Section band who need a couple of seats filled.. Bb BASS and PERCUSSIONIST are on our wanted list so if you are looking for a new banding challenge get in contact. We rehearse on Wednesdays and have good realistic diary.


Newport Borough Brass Band

March 27 • After a respectable 4th place in the 2nd Section at the Welsh Area Contest, we are looking for FRONT ROW CORNET (position negotiable) 1st BARITONE, 2ND TROMBONE and Bb BASS players to come and join us on our journey under the baton of Martin McHale BEM.


East London Brass

March 27 • PERCUSSION - ELB are the look out for a percussionist to complement our existing section. We have a sensible diary of contests and concerts and are ambitious to keep progressing as a band.
