Arden to be remembered by City of Hull

The life of one of the most popular former players of the City of Hull Band is set to be remembered.

City of Hull
The band will celebrate the life of one of its most popular former players

The City of Hull Band will pay tribute to one of its finest players next month.

Peter Arden was their much loved and admired tuba player who sadly lost his battle against Covid-19 in July 2020. Due to restrictions and regulations, the band was unable to pay their respects to him in the manner they wished until now.

Friends

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The only occasion we got together for anything other than virtually during a 17-month period was to play, socially distanced on the grass outside the crematorium in Hull.

Peter had so many friends throughout the banding community that we wanted to give him a farewell with some of the music he loved."

They added: "The concert is in the town where Peter spent much of his adult life and is being held on what would have been his 60th birthday. We also know he would have been delighted that the bar will be open to encourage people to chat, laugh and swap stories."

Time and place

The concert is being held at The Parkway Cinema, Flemingate, Beverley (HU17 0PW) on Sunday 1st May at 2.30pm.
