Morgan Griffiths, the respected conductor of 2018 Grand Shield winner Hammonds Band has been appointed Senior Lecturer of Euphonium at Leeds Conservatoire.
The former Black Dyke, Williams Fairey and Yorkshire Building Society euphonium star will take up his new role on 1st October where he will take responsibility of mentoring and guiding the next generation of talented euphonium students.
Respected
Morgan's CV is respected throughout the banding world — being part of Black Dyke and YBS Bands that won multiple major titles.
He also gained the accolade of 'International Euphonium Player of the Year' in 1999 and released his critically acclaimed solo CD 'The Voice of the Euphonium'. He was voted 2002 4Barsrest Player of the Year.

Top echelon
In 2007 he was appointed the Musical Director of the newly named Hammonds Saltaire Band, guiding them back to the top echelon of Championship banding at the British Open and Brass in Concert Championships.
