The Academy will be led by a team of experienced tutors

Belgian National Champion, Brass Band Willebroek continues to focus its attention to future developments both on and off the contesting stage.

Over recent months the band has organised the Willebroek Solo Competition which will climax in a live-streamed final with 26 competitors on November 22nd, whilst the band has also announced the launch of its 'Brass Band Willebroek Academy'.

Young players

This will see the band engage with young players from around the nation from Sunday 8th to Friday 13th August 2021, in the culture hostel 'Bed Muzet' in Lier.

It will see the formation of two bands — with the youngest and less experienced musicians joining the 'Willebroek Academy Juniors' led by tuba player and conductor Toon Rutten. The more advanced musicians will form the 'Willebroek Academy Band' led by Frans Violet.

The event will see full rehearsals alternated with individual lessons, workshops, group sessions and concerts/recitals — with plenty of time for some funBrass Band Willebroek.
