BBC to repeat Battle of the Bands

The BBC 'Our Lives' series will repeat its 'Battle of the Bands' programme looking at banding in Wales in the build up to the 2019 Welsh Regional Championship.

Tredegar
The BBC Wales 'Our Lives' programme followed Cory and Tredegar to the 2019 Welsh Championships

There will be the opportunity for television viewers to enjoy the battle for the Welsh Regional Championship title later this month.

Unfortunately it isn't in preparation for the 2021 event which has had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, or for the 2020 crown which saw Tredegar claim the honours at Swansea University in March — the last time Welsh bands were able to compete against each other.

Cory and Tredegar

Instead it's a repeat of the popular 'Battle of the Bands' episode that followed defending champion Cory and their rivals Tredegar to the 2019 Championships held in Wrexham — part of the award winning 'Our Lives' documentary series.

It will be screened on BBC1 Wales on Sunday 18th October (4.05pm).

The programme gained widespread critical acclaim for the way in which it treated the subject matter — shining a sympathetic light on why and how high quality amateur music making is still embedded into local communities in Wales and the commitment it takes from people in different walks of life to achieve excellence at it.

Repeated

It was first broadcast in May 2019 and has been twice since repeated — so if you don't know the result by now, don't check out the contest archive on 4BR to spoil your enjoyment.
