Although there are lockdowns and restrictions on playing across the banding world at present, there is still some great brass band music being performed in some corners of the globe.
Rescheduled
One such is in Christchurch in New Zealand where Woolston Brass, has begun to return to rescheduled events that were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a spokesperson told 4BR: "We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this period whilst we rescheduled our 2020 events and activities.
We were cautious to communicate these formally with the uncertainty of the recent alert level 2 restrictions, but there are now things to look forward to."
Open rehearsal
Woolston Brass and their two Academy bands — Woolston Concert Brass and Woolston Junior Band have recently been preparing for the Canterbury Provincial Brass Association Band and Solo Contest that will proceed at the end of this month restriction rules allow.
If restrictions allow, the band will hold the events plus an open rehearsal, their annual general meeting and further events over the next few months.
