The National Association of Brass Band Conductors (NABBC) recently held its AGM.
This year the event was held on-line due to the Coronavirus restrictions, which also meant that the organisation's flagship Conducting Competition had to be cancelled.
Decide and debate
However, there was still plenty to decide upon and debate with the main changes seeing the elections of John Clay as Vice President, John Fricker as Vice Chair and Rosie Banham from Brass Bands England as Membership Secretary.
In addition, the constitution was updated to replace some of the more outdated aspects and make it more relevant.
Looking forward
NABBC Chairperson Mareika Gray told 4BR: "The loss of our conducting competition was unfortunate but fully understandable but we now look forward to holding it in 2021.
I'm pleased our processes, particularly membership are being streamlined through the partnership with Brass Bands England and I must give special thanks to Alex Parker and Rosie Banham for all their hard work."
Events
It was also announced that the NABBC will be announcing regional networking events for conductors once social gathering restrictions are eased.
