Regent Brass, based in Westminster in the heart of London, has announced that after six years at the helm, Paul Archibald is to relinquish his role as Musical Director.

Bangkok

The respected trumpet player and Geneva artist is to teach brass in Thailand as Head of Woodwind & Brass at the renowned Shrewsbury International School in Bangkok.

However, he hopes to maintain a strong connection with the First Section London & Southern Counties contenders, taking on the new role as Musical Director Emeritus linked to regular future return visits.

Fruitful

Band Chairman, Neil Rossiter told 4BR: "We would like to thank Paul for his commitment and dedication.

He has had a big influence on the development of Regent Brass and we look forward to continuing the fruitful relationship in the future."

Bright future

In response, Paul told 4BR: "The six years I have spent as Musical Director have been a real highlight.

The members are a passionate and committed group of musicians and, with the residency at DLD College in Westminster and the recent partnership with the Geneva Group now in place, the future looks bright."

He added: "I would like to thank the management and players for their support and I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success in my new role as Musical Director Emeritus."
