The organisers of the Shirebrook Open Brass Band Entertainment Contest have announced a new date in 2021 for the popular contest.

The event was to have taken place on Sunday 5th July but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It will now take place on Sunday 4th July 2021. All competing bands have been informed.

4BR was also informed that the Shirebrook 'Brass in the Park' series of Sunday afternoon concerts in Shirebrook Town Park have also been cancelled, although the organisers are awaiting further Government guidance before making a decision on August and September bookings

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Bands performing during August and September will be contacted as soon as a decision can be made regarding safety for these events."

Dates for Shirebrook Brass in the Park 2021 will be issued shortly.
