Laganvale
The Laganvale Metal Technology Band has been welcoming guests from around the banding globe

Northern Ireland Champion, Laganvale Metal Technology Band, have been staving off the boredom of lockdown by hosting Zoom meetings with special guests over the past few weeks.

Chat and banter

Bands members and supporters can log in on Monday evenings at 8.00pm and have already enjoyed entertaining chat and banter with the likes of the co-operation band's principal cornet player Jonny Midnight — also known as Jim Hayes and their star soprano player Gordon Kyle.

Black Dyke principal trombone Dr Brett Baker has also been featured, as have the American based Scots of Allan Ramsay and Dr James Gourlay.

The meetings have proved to be insightful and fun as the guests have shared stories from their careers and offered guidance on improving playing and practisingLaganvale Metal Technology Band

Shared stories

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The meetings have proved to be insightful and fun as the guests have shared stories from their careers and offered guidance on improving playing and practising."

You can also enjoy the meeting on the band's Facebook page, with the latest guest being Dr Peter Graham, whilst the band will be delighted to welcome Lee & Helen Harrelson from Fountain City Brass Band in Kansas on Monday 1st June.
