The most recent results make for interesting reading according to BBE

Brass Bands England (BBE) has announced the launch of Part 4 of their Brass Band Contesting Survey.

It is designed to find out the views of people at all levels of banding on the current state of brass band contests.

Manageable parts

The rolling survey exercise has been split into easily manageable parts — with those wishing to contribute able to fill in each section in turn.

If you haven't yet taken the opportunity you can still take part. Part 4 should take about 15 minutes to complete.

Survey

To survey can be found at: https://www.bbe.org.uk/what-we-do/brass-band-contesting-survey or to go direct to Part 4 please go to https://forms.gle/5XW9cREoq6fPfHec6

One participant from each part of the survey is picked at random to receive a year's free individual membership of Brass Bands England. The latest winner was Andrew Whitaker of Lofthouse Brass.

Some of the ideas and responses have been really interesting and we look forward to sharing them in the final reportBrass Bands England

High response rate

Speaking about the encouraging progress of the survey to date, BBE Partnership & Relationship Development Manager, Alex Parker told 4BR: "There have now been over 1,350 responses which we are really pleased about.

Some of the ideas and responses have been really interesting and we look forward to sharing them in the final report."

Alex revealed that the age range of participants is particularly interesting, with the highest response rates coming from the 50-60 age range but the lowest response coming from the U18 closely followed by the 70+.
