4BR has been informed that there is an air of 'cautious optimism' that the popular Wychavon Festival of Brass will be able to go ahead later this year. The event has been pencilled in the banding calendar for Saturday 31st October.
Cautiously optimistic
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are cautiously optimistic, but fully aware of the ongoing advice and legislation issued by the government which we will fully adhere to.
We are however hopeful that the Wychavon Entertainment Contest will go ahead on October 31st in Evesham as planned and we are looking forward to welcoming old and new friends for what we are sure will be another wonderful day of brass music after such an extended spell of disruption for bands."

Review situation
They added: "However, in light of the present Coronavirus epidemic and the potential that this may have to affect both the planning and the execution of the contest, we think it prudent to review the situation regularly, taking note of any future restrictions imposed by the government.
At the present time though, the planning and organisation of the forthcoming contest is progressing as normal and entry levels from bands sharing our optimism remain very high. New and returning band entries to the contest are, of course, very welcome.
