Those magnificent men and women in their NHS flying machines...

Regent Brass has been doing its bit to help support the brilliant NHS and front line care workers at this time of lockdown...

Regent Brass has been doing its bit to honour the great NHS and front line care workers

Like all bands around the country at the present time, Regent Brass has had to stop its rehearsals and planned activities in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, that hasn't meant the band has been taking any time off, as inspired by the NHS workers and front line carers they have released their own tribute — a socially-distanced recording of 'Those Magnificent Men (and women) in their Flying Machines' — a fun take on an old classic with a bit of comedy thrown in.

Bit of fun

Musical Director, Paul Archibald, has led this project and spent time putting together the video, which features band members in their home recording 'studios', as well as some fun with some successful — and less successful — flying machines.

How grateful

Paul told 4BR: "Being a band from Central London Regent has a lot of friends and family who are key workers in the NHS and care sectors.

We have been inspired by the clapping for the NHS in recent weeks, and wanted to do something to not only reach out to the band but to hopefully inspire our front line health care heroes and show them how grateful we are."
