Willebroek stars become Professors of Saxhorn at Royal Conservatoire Antwerp

Two of the leading players from Belgian Champion Brass Band Willebroek have been appointed as Professors of Saxhorn at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.

Solo euphonium, Kevin Van Giel and principal cornet Lode Violet will take up their new posts for the new 2020/21 academic year.

Team

They will join an experienced team that includes Rik Vercruysse, Jan Smets, Bernd Van Echelpoel, Simon Van Hoeke and Steven Verhaert.

The appointments also extends the connection with Brass Band Willebroek, as inspirational Musical Director Frans Violet has been a leading tutor at the Conservatoire there for many years and retires at the end of the 2019/20.
