Our little midweek workout of the brain cells...
We will be posting regular quiz questions to win prizes over the coming weeks — some harder than others — but all a bit of fun to keep you in a good musical mood at home.
We have two great brass band CDs up for grabs today — both from Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
They come from the great 'History of Brass Band Music' series they made under Elgar Howarth — 'The Early Years' and 'The Modern Era'. Two cracking CDs to get reacquainted with some wonderful music spanning 150 years.
All you have to do is come up with the link between the following... and explain why.
Question:
What's the link between a test-piece by Kenneth Downie, the on-screen partner to Jimmy Greaves in a famous television football punditry programme and a fictional private detective played by actor Roger Moore?
