A new on-line solo competition is being organised by a student with an innovative musical idea.

Christopher Hall is a music student at the University of Salford and due to the Coronavirus pandemic has had to change his intended final year project.

On-line competition

He has now created an on-line solo competition with the help of friend and adjudicators for the project, conductor Ben Dixon and Geneva artist, Brett Baker.

He has already received entries from afar afield as Switzerland and the USA, so why not give a go yourselves.

Appropriate rules and conditions apply and can be requested, and those under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to send in their on-line entry.

Format/Rules:

1. Recordings sent to bosolochampionships@gmail.com or to the facebook account 'Brass Online Solo Championships'.
2. Contestants must also provide a name, date of birth, and a digital copy of the solo they are performing, for the adjudicators
3. Recording must be a video format showing the participant playing, in one take
4. Any solo can be played
5. Adjudicators to listen to recordings blind, and will mark performances out of 100, with written remarks
6. Placings will be determined by a sum of all points
7. Awards will be allocated based on the placings
