Yorkshire Area statements on Coronavirus and parking

If you are playing or listening at Huddersfield Town Hall this weekend then you need to follow some common sense advice.

Important
The announcement has been made to help players and listeners

The Yorkshire Regional Committee has issued a statement over the Coronavirus ahead of its Championships at Huddersfield Town Hall on the weekend.

Hand washing

Regional Secretary Robert Turnbull told 4BR: "I have had a number of calls asking me what the latest advice is being given by the Town Hall management.

We have been informed that it is business as normal with promotion of hand washing and good personal hygiene (as at all other large gatherings).

We would ask players and supporters to take the necessary precautions to assist in everyone being kept as safe as possible over the weekend's events.

Stewards will have hand sanitizer if anyone requests it, but if players and listeners can bring their own this help enormously."

Car parking

Robert also emphasised that people should be aware of the car parking restrictions — although new parking spaces have become available.

"The multi-storey car park remains closed but we have had a further offer of car parking space in close proximity to the hall.

This car park is private and is not normally open during Saturday and Sunday but the owner is trying to help us alleviate parking congestion and is opening over the weekend.

The car park is located on Milford Street. Huddersfield (HD1 3DX) at Bates & Co. Premises. The opening hours will be 7.00am through to 7.00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. All day parking will be £4 and after 12 noon it will be £2.

There will be a car parking sign outside the entrance which is under cover storage for approximately 100 cars."
