Sacheus Holloway-Jones has returned to North Wales via New Zealand and Norway

Northop Silver Band has announced the return of their former soprano player Sacheus Holloway-Jones to North Wales in time to join them for the forthcoming Welsh Regional Championships in Swansea on 1st March.

New Zealand and Norway

Sacheus has spent the last 12 months in New Zealand with Nelson Brass, and whilst there gained a place on the National Youth Brass Band of New Zealand. At the end of the course, he was awarded the 'Outstanding Player' award for his contribution during their recent summer course.

He did make a brief return to his homeland for the National Youth Brass Band of Wales summer course and also made an appearance at the Norwegian National Championships last weekend performing with both the Tysnes and Haukas Bands in Bergen.

Superb player

Speaking about his return, Northop Silver MD John Doyle told 4BR: "Sach is a superb player who possesses all the attributes needed to be amongst the very best on soprano cornet.

He adds another layer of class to Northop and I am really excited about the forthcoming Area Championships where we will look to qualify once again for the Royal Albert Hall."
