North of England has designs on future

The North of England Regional Championships hopes to build on the success of their move to a new venue with fresh corporate look...

North of England
The 75th year of competition will be heralded by a new look design

The North of England Brass Band Championships will celebrate its 75th anniversary this year with a fresh new look.

That's the upbeat view of Regional Contest Secretary Tony Griffiths who told 4BR that the organisation is keen to build on the success of the event since its move to the Gala Theatre in Durham.

Increased interest

Since the move the weekend has gained increased interest not just from sponsors such as Geneva Instruments, but also from traders and crucially both competitors and listeners alike. That interest will now be shown through a new branding with a working partnership created to local company Encore Design & Publicity.

Tony told 4BR: "We're always looking at ways to improve our regional contest as a committee and the 75th year was the perfect time to give the event a fresh new look for the new decade.

We've worked with Jo Behan of Encore Design & Publicity to help us to develop our new branding and we're excited to go into 2020 with the new look.

We can promise great music making at a fantastic venue, backed by a team that is determined to showcase the very best of North of England banding to the world on the weekend of 14th and 15th March."
