City of Bradford Band has announced the appointment of the highly experienced Neil Day as their new principal cornet.
He will take up the post immediately and follows in the footsteps of Dave Carren who has moved to join the cornet section at Brighouse & Rastrick. Neil has previously played for Thoresby Colliery, Black Dyke and more latterly as principal cornet at City of Hull Band.
Speaking about the appointment, City of Bradford MD Lee Skipsey told 4BR; "I'm thrilled to welcome Neil to the band. He is such a highly regarded principal cornet player who possesses the sound, technique and temperament that stands out at the very highest level. This is a great Christmas present."
