Brass Bands England is offering courses for Player Development and BandSafe over the next few weeks.

Brass Bands England will be running or linking up with organisations for a series of different events over the next few weeks.

Player Development

Paul Cosh and Roger Webster will be leading their Player Development Seminar at Morton Park Training Centre on Saturday 23rd November (10.00am — 4.00pm).

These workshops look to improve the overall quality of bands playing and performance. In these sessions, Paul focuses on essentials of brass playing, looking at practical exercises to improve your individual playing to heighten the band's overall sound.

Roger Webster's attention is drawn to the mental and psychological aspects of efficient practice and performance methods. Both sessions have a consistent message that improving the quality of individual players can drastically the quality of your band overall.

BandSafe

There will be a BandSafe Training afternoon on Wednesday 4th December (1.00pm-4.00pm) at Brass Band England's headquarters at Unit 12, Maple Estate, Barnsley (S75 2 BL)

The BandSafe training course has been developed with the NSPCC, and is tailored to the challenges you may face in a band environment. If your band wishes to make use of the BBE-held BOPA then two members of your band must have attended a BandSafe training course.

Tintwistle Band

March 18 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd euphonium and 2nd baritone player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.

March 15 • We are a friendly, welcoming 4th section band based in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Following our 4th place at the North West regionals, we are looking for a SOLO CORNET player (position negotiable). We rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
