Trio addition to Slaithwaite

The Slaithwaite Band has been boosted by the arrival of a trio of new players.

The three new players are welcome additions to the Slaithwaite ranks

The Slaithwaite Band has announced a trio of new signings.

Millie Smith, Geraint Osborn and Gillian Knight have all committed their futures to the Yorkshire outfit as they look forward to the 2020 season ahead.

Millie, 18, joins on back row, sitting next to her auntie Karen. Meanwhile, Geraint who joins on bass trombone is no stranger to brass bands having joined from Emley, whilst second baritone player Gillian has committed her future to the band, which sees her join her husband Andrew as a member.

Perfect fit

Speaking about the signings, MD Matt Hindle told 4BR: "All three players have come into the band and fitted in perfectly. They have filled some key vacancies but also brought a range of personalities which fit perfectly.

We have a fantastic group of players who are like one big family and they have been welcomed with open arms."

Band Chairman Mark Eastwood echoed the comments by adding: "We're thrilled to welcome our new trio to an extremely hard working but fun and friendly band."
