Grimethorpe Colliery Band has announced that it is to be featured as an artist on the new BBC Children in Need collaboration album 'Got It Covered' which is to be released on Friday 1st November.

Celebrities

The album features a number of leading celebrities from stage and screen who perform exclusive cover versions of their favourite songs — Helena Bonham-Carter, Olivia Colman, Suranne Jones, Jim Broadbent, Jodie Whittaker.

The recordings have been made over the last few months alongside the BBC, Silva Screen Records and Brit and Mercury award-winning record producers Guy Chambers and Jonathan Quarmby.

Never Grow Up

Grimethorpe's contribution is a cover version of Taylor Swift's beautiful 'Never Grow Up', which was selected to be sung by Barnsley-born actor Shaun Dooley, star of TV shows such as 'Jamestown', 'Red Riding', 'Broadchurch', 'Coronation Street' and 'EastEnders' amongst others.

Shaun's father worked as a miner and still lives close to the village of Grimethorpe.
