Kench steps down at Wakefield Metropolitan

Peter Kench has taken the decision to step down as the Musical Director of Wakefield Metropolitan Band.

4BR has been informed that Peter Kench has stepped down as Musical Director of Wakefield Metropolitan Band.

He told 4BR: "Sadly the vision of the band and my own vision of progress no longer align."

However, he was clear to add that he wished the band well in the future. "I will cherish the positive memories of my 14 months with Wakefield, including a fantastic tour of Germany. I wish them well on their next chapter, as I embark on mine."

During his tenure the band came 10th at the 2019 First Section Yorkshire Regional Championships and 4th at the Easingwold March Contest.
