Chris travelled to the city of Mito just north of Tokyo to spend an evening conducting the Nexus Brass Band on a free day from the orchestra who were performing Verdi's 'Otello' and Gounod's 'Faust' in Tokyo and Yokohama.
Conducted by Kaz Kouno, well known in the UK as a former Cory Band member and graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music, the Nexus Brass Band can boast a very traditional and extremely well trained approach to 'British Banding'.
Earlier in the tour former Foden's bass trombone star Simon spent a rewarding day working with the Akebono Brass Band and tutoring a number of very talented young Japanese musicians.
