British Open champions Cory extend their lead at the top of the rankings following their stunning win in Birmingham last weekend.

The latest Band Supplies — 4barsrest.com World Rankings see Cory Band extend its lead even further following yet another success at last weekend's British Open Championships.

Black Dyke's recent return to form sees it back in second place for the first time in three years, while Desford Colliery's fourth place at Birmingham sees it rise to its highest placing in nine years.

In addition to ensuring that it will end the year at the top of the rankings for the 13th successive time, Cory's lead is such that it is difficult to envisage any band overtaking it in 2020.

Also upwardly-mobile are New Zealand champion Wellington Brass and Aldbourne (now in its highest ever position), while the other contests taking place since the last update were:

DCBBA Picnic in the Park Contest — won by GT Group Peterlee;
Shirebrook Entertainment Contest — won by Enderby;
Welsh National Eisteddfod — won by Llwydcoed;
Dr. Martin Wainstones Cup — won by Reg Vardy.
