The 2019 British Open Championship organisers have announced the list of bands that will compete at the 167th contest to be held at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Saturday 7th September.
18 contenders will perform 'Dynasty' by composer Peter Graham in their bid to claim the iconic British Open Trophy, currently held by defending champion Cory.
Live-streamed
Thanks to the cooperation of Symphony Hall and the competing bands, the event will also be live-streamed to all corners of the banding world in association with World of Brass, 4barsrest.com and event sponsors Besson.
Those wishing to subscribe to watch the event on-line can do so by signing up for £9.99 from Wednesday 4th September at: www.worldofbrass.tv
Due to ongoing internal construction work to transform the foyers of Symphony Hall, trade stand exhibitors will not be in their usual place this year, but are instead to be found in Hall 11 of the adjoining International Conference Centre.
The draw will take place at 9.00am with the first band taking to the stage at 10.30am.
The identity of the three judges will be announced on the day itself, whilst the competing bands are reminded to ensure the appropriate registration details for the contest are in order.
Time
Patrons are advised to ensure they give themselves plenty of time to get to the venue and to clear the security checks that are now in place to allow entry to the auditorium.
A spokesperson said: "As always we look forward to welcoming old and new friends to Symphony Hall to enjoy one of the finest days in the banding calendar."
