Fulham Brass has announced the signing of the vastly experienced bass trombonist, Gordon Camsey, who will play with them at the forthcoming First Section National Finals in Cheltenham in September.

Gordon was member of the International Staff Band for 28 years, gaining a renowned reputation as a performer across the world — although this will be his first ever brass band contest appearance in his distinguished career.

Superb player

MD John Ward told 4BR: "As our regular player Chris Claxton is unable to be with us for Cheltenham I thought it was worth a shot contacting Gordon to see if he'd be interested in experiencing contesting for the first time."

He added: "I was thrilled when he said yes. He's a superb player and great guy so we're really looking forward to meeting him after the summer."
